Moments at The Mandarin Hotel

With two Michelin stars already, Moments restaurant is one not to miss! Moments at the Mandarin continues to win new awards, thanks to its creative, fresh, and exciting dishes. Managed by one of the most famous female chefs in Spain, chef Carme Ruscalleda, this beautiful restaurant has risen to fame in recent years for good reason. It’s a perfect example of Catalan cuisine at its very finest.

Moments offers one of the finest gastronomic experiences in the city. Decorated with golden and amber hues and crisp white linen dining cloths, it all comes together to create a relaxing, magical atmosphere. What else would you expect from a dining location within this stunning hotel located on Passeig de Gracia, the most expensive street in Spain? In addition, a window into the kitchen provides diners with an attractive view of the culinary staff at work. This is definitely a place to impress.

Indochina by Leap

Who doesn’t want to enjoy Michelin-level service in the heart of the jungle? We definitely do! Enjoy a huge selection of immaculately prepared Asian-fusion tapas. Chefs at Indochina show their expertise with spices, citrus, and aromatic herbs—each dish is an explosion of flavor.

This great spot is designed to make you feel like you are in an actual jungle—over 1,000 square meters of one, no less! Have a seat at low tables suspended like tiny islands above water. To further simulate a jungle, you’ll also eat your dinner with fish swimming below and exotic plants nearby. If you’re looking for a unique experience in the heart of the city, transport yourself here, if even just for a few hours!

7 Portes

Founded in 1836 as a café and converted into a restaurant in 1929, 7 Portes is one of the most enchanting places in the city. Decorated in typical 19th-century style, it’s a sprawling space with (as the name suggests) seven main dining areas. It exudes an old-world atmosphere that hits you as soon as you step through its glorious arches.

The interior is as you’d expect—varnished wood paneling, tiles, mirrors, and plaques naming many of the famous people that have eaten there over the years. If it’s good enough for Orson Welles, it’s definitely good enough for us.

Paella is the specialty dish here, and it’s served by immaculately dressed waiters in all of their finery. You also have the option of choosing from an incredible a la carte menu.

Local’s Tip: Try the delectable seafood in the gran plat de marisc, which literally means a big plate of seafood.

Local’s Tip: We are passionate about paella here at Devour. Which is why we created this great video to give you some top tips on how to spot an authentic one!

Pla de La Garsa

The Pla de la Garsa restaurant is located in the barns of the former Hostal de la Bona Sort, which means the Good Luck Hostel. Steeped in history, the place was originally built in the 17th century, nestled deep in the heart of the beautiful medieval village of the Born. To add to its beauty, the entrance is adorned with hundreds of tiny fairy lights, adding to its romance factor.

The original owner introduced a range of selected cheeses he would bring from his home in Perpignan, France. Total French and Catalan fusion! We love the blue cheese croquettes and breaded aubergines with soft Mahon cheese, sun-dried tomato, and basil. Furthermore, don’t miss out on trying the foie—they serve theirs with caramelized onions and pistachios.

Chef Fernando Medina came from Quatre Gats, so it is no wonder the dishes are so immaculately presented. Furthermore, he is a champion of sourcing from only local artisan producers. This has got to be one of our top romantic restaurants in Barcelona.

Torre d’Alta Mar

As you walk into this flashy restaurant, you are on top of the world – literally.

Enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the harbor, beach,  city, mountains, and the entire coastline of Barcelona! There are very few places in the city with views like this, plus creative cuisine to match! What could be better? This restaurant deserves a spot on our list of romantic restaurants in Barcelona. Step away from the hustle and bustle of Barceloneta and opt for a meal in the sky.
